ABOUT THE PILATES PLACE ROCKPORT

Hi! I'm Toni Chidester, the Founder and Certified Instructor here at The Pilates Place ROCKPORT.

I am 58 years old, originally from Houston, I have lived in Rockport for 2 years. I love walking the Beach Park. I have a Cat, but love Dogs, too. I am also a very good cook. I have been in the Healthcare Industry for much of my adult life.

I am a Certified FiitCore Reformer Instructor, a Certified Comprehensive Classical Pilates Instructor through Peak Pilates, and Certified for Classic and Pilates through Silver Sneakers. I am a Licenced EKG Tech, formerly a Certified Nursing Assistant in an Med-Surg unit in a hospital, and Home Health Care, and Private Duty Memory Care. I specialize in Geriatric Care. 

I found Silver Sneakers through Amanda Lourdes who is my Mentor. I love it! So much so, I recently Certified as a Silver Sneakers Instructor while I was also certifying as a Pilates Instructor.

I took my first Pilates class at the urging of a good friend and, well….the rest is history. I was having so many joint pains and mobility issues from lack of moving regularly due to one old injury or another. I started and stopped so many times, a new illness or injury setting me back. 

 Pilates/Silver Sneakers has helped to heal and recondition my Body Mind & Spirit...and I have lost 80 pounds! I am committed to helping others like me. Pilates is such a restorative low-resistance, high impact practice. The instruction is so tailor made for the individual and the fun and camaraderie in the group Silver Sneakers classes is addictive!
